I cant help myself.......

I just LOVE this time of year, when the trees promise an abundance of fruit with masses of blossom. Remember this picture taken on the 14th? August
Here it is today, the 19th. almost all of the flowers are open and the bees are buzzing around. If you click to enlarge this picture, you'll see I have actually caught one in flight. I'm "chuffed" about that, I have waited for hours trying to get a shot, close up, of a bee at work and here it happened by accident (well maybe not hours, but, you know...)
The flowers are soooo beautiful, I am a lover of white flowers. I could waste all of my time just looking at them.
Another pretty is a yellow peach tree, grafted onto a dwarfing rootstock, which we moved to a better position during the winter months. It didn't bear any fruit last year but its looking hopeful for this coming season.

I'm sure everything is flowering about 3 weeks earlier than last year. I have tried taking photos of bees but they're a bit like birds, move a lot, I should have another go.

Blossum not so far on in Wellington, yet a few tress are in full bloom.

Where I am few are fruiting trees, yet still they are so cheering to see.

First few Kowhai Trees in flower. Full on golden yellow to follow. I guess I'd like them more if the gorse flowers weren't the same colour..

(Gorse maybe a great heging plant back in it's native UK, but here it is such a pest that grows too, too well)

Never mind - springtime signs everywhere including the arum lilies a-growing and self spreading, flowers soon! My Paternal Grandmother had these lilies (or some very like them) in her wedding bouquet back in January 1929.

Much care, Michelle and my sleeping Zebby, xxx

Yes Pip, the trees do seem to be early this year. Maybe they think that there is another drought on the way, and are trying to re-produce before it affects the fruit.

Dear Mickle, I'm with you, yellow flowers are WEEDS ! The only yellow I have in my garden is a few daffodils and jonquils. There is gorse growing in the district but we are fortunate that there is none on our place (yet) plenty of blackberry though !!

My arum lilies are flowering as well. I have a picture of a wedding party, taken in 1940 with the bride carrying a bouquet of them. I was the flower girl !!
