Its a GIRL !!

Born this morning. Looks like inspection time at the zoo. An earlier calf born on the 4th. of September, also a girl thinks she has a playmate at last. Strange, this is the first pictures I have ever taken of the cattle babies and we have had cows for 22 years.

I was feeling sad because its father went to the saleyards last wednesday, he was a beautiful example of a Limousin bull. Much happier however when I heard that the butchers were outbid and he went to live for a few years longer, somewhere in the Murraylands. Loxton, I think.

Baby amimals are beautiful.

congratulations! I love the baby animals, even when I know they are destined to be food. It's good to know they will enjoy natural and happy lives for as long as possible. It's my firm belief that healthy happy animals make for healthy happy food. Thanks for being part of the good food chain!

Lovely animals - we used to get premium prices for our Hereford/Limousin crossesw, but I guess with girls you'll be hanging on to these two...

Many thanks to all for your lovely comments.

I am quite proud of these animals because it was ME who decided to purchase Zimmer the Limousin Bull, father to our latest lot of calves.
They all have his nice round backside, and his lovely golden brown colour.
